Students pursuing their bachelor's, master's or Ph.D. can explore many opportunities in their disciplines or areas of interest. Internship and co-op positions will vary in duration, location and responsibilities; whether it is a summer internship or a co-op in the Spring or Fall, opportunities exist across all of our sites that will introduce you to a multitude of projects and challenges.

The goal of our internship and co-op program is to provide each and every student a positive experience working in the energy industry. The work, networking opportunities and overall experience is intended to paint a picture of what a career with ExxonMobil is like. You will gain firsthand experience with our work, company culture and more.

No matter your discipline, all interns and co-ops are assigned real, meaningful work that has potential to directly impact our business. In addition to challenging work, interns and co-ops have the opportunity to grow their professional networks. From Day 1, you will have the chance to network with fellow interns from schools across the country as well as ExxonMobil employees at all levels of the organization, from recent graduates to senior managers.

What we look for

  • Students actively pursuing a bachelor's, master's or Ph.D. in the United States
  • Record of strong academic performance
  • Willingness to take on challenging assignments and manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Candidates open to relocation

Relocation

ExxonMobil offers internship and co-op assignments at nearly all of our U.S.-based locations, so candidates should be open to relocating for the duration of their assignment(s). Relocation packages are available to eligible candidates.

When to apply?

Although we have internship and co-op recruiting opportunities throughout the year, most of our recruiting is done in the Fall, beginning in August and coming to an end in November. Our recruiting teams visit campuses all across the U.S. seeking candidates in specific disciplines.
