Production and handling

Banyu Urip crude is produced from the ~400 million barrel Cepu field in Central Java by operator ExxonMobil Cepu Ltd on behalf of coVenturers which include Pertamina, local government interests and the Government of Indonesia. Banyu Urip crude has been successfully produced and refined domestically since December 2008 at volumes up to 30 kbd. Beginning in the second quarter 2015, Banyu Urip will be available to supply both the Indonesian domestic and international markets with loadings at a newly commissioned FSO. Typical export cargos are planned at a nominal 650 kb on Aframax tankers. Peak production in late 2015 may exceed 165 kbd.

Load Port Data

Banyu Urip crude will be supplied from the FSO Gagak Rimang with a 2 million barrel capacity. The FSO is situated approximately 23 kilometers north of Tuban in the East Java Sea at Latitude 06042’40.7’’ S., Longitude 112013’1.7’’ E.

Typical characteristics

Banyu Urip is a light-medium and waxy-grade crude with very low sulfur. The crude has an extremely unique and valuable yield distribution with very high kerosene, diesel, and VGO cuts (among the highest in the world) but very low naphtha and resid cuts.
