Rethinking recycling

We believe advanced recycling is a necessary complement to mechanical recycling to help meet the growing demand for circularity. Simply put, advanced recycling:

  • Converts difficult-to-recycle plastics back into virgin quality raw materials that can be used to make new products
  • Enables a broader range of plastics to be recycled

We recently started up a large-scale advanced recycling facility at the site – one of the largest advanced recycling facilities in North America, capable of processing more than 80 million pounds of plastic waste per year.

Beyond Baytown, we plan to expand annual advanced recycling capacity to 1 billion pounds by year-end 2026 across multiple sites globally.

Food packaging

Our light-weight packaging materials, including advanced polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) resins, help preserve and protect food products for longer – from the factory floor to your freezers. Preserving that food could help end global hunger and reduce food costs for billions of people. Advanced plastic packaging also reduces total product weight and allows more products per shipment, which means fewer trucks on the road and less gasoline used, adding up to fewer greenhouse gas emissions.
